Tazza in Rosso Sfumato
Tazza in Rosso Sfumato
Blown Glass
6" X 8.5" X 8.5"
2026

Echoes of Antiquity, Tazza in Rosso Sfumato draws its form from the Vetro a Reticello Footed Cup (Tazza) crafted in the late 16th century and acquired by the Toledo Museum of Art in 1913. This contemporary interpretation pays homage to that Renaissance masterpiece while reimagining its elegance through a modern studioglass lens.
The vessel’s surface is enveloped in a rich red that radiates from the lip and foot, gradually softening as it moves inward toward the center. This gentle fade creates a sense of depth and warmth, inviting the viewer to explore its luminous interior.
Created in celebration of the Toledo Museum of Art’s 125year history, the tazza becomes a bridge between centuries of glassmaking artistry, honoring the past while offering a fresh vision rooted in today’s creative practice.
